Overview: DF MOO Fort Weyr Search Forms & Guidelines
Now with 20% More Absurdity -- September 2004
Welcome to Search at Fort Weyr! Whether you're on SearchCo or an applicant, we're glad you're interested in playing with us. Search is a special, exciting time at the Weyr. On the OOC side of the fence, there's a lot of planning, discussing, and creating. And on the IC side, there's creative rp: the stuff that makes it all worth it.
We keep most of our Search documents online, where people can look at them and digest them at their leisure. Please do read these documents as time permits, and don't be afraid to ask questions. If the person you're talking to doesn't know the answers, someone else surely will!
Please check out The Search Process first - It's an overview of how Search works, designed for players on both sides of the fence.
Search Application and Questionnaire (Required):
- The Character Questionnaire - This questionnaire is meant
to help players draw out each other's characters in roleplay. We urge both Search applicants and Search Committee members to fill them out. Everybody should do one. They do take a
long time, but it's easy to see why: they're the key to your character! They are also REQUIRED of all accepted Candidates, so please think about getting an early start.
- The OOC Search Application - Not your grand-daddy's Search application! Just five easy questions -- and no sweat.
The Really Really Recommended (but not Required) Reading:
- The Schedule of OOC Search Events - What (we think) is happening when.
- The List of Behaviors - Player/character traits that the Fort Weyr
Search Committee deemed most desirable in a Candidate (or any other kind of character, really).
- The Dragon Color Deposition Vault - Various players' thoughts on playing each color of dragon; note that some of these are a bit out-of-date.
- The Dragon Inspiration Vault - Each dragon we Impress onscreen comes ready-mixed with its very own custom-fit Inspiration file.
- Weyrling Information - A great resource for weyrlingmaster players, weyrling players, and potential weyrling players. NOTE: NO mandatory classes! NO required reading! These are just guidelines.
